Community Clinic for Vulnerable Patients at the Peninsula Dental Social Enterprise Devonport Dental Education Facility
South West
A free clinic for people experiencing homelessness in Plymouth has had a transformational effect on patients, and a recent evaluation of the clinic found it was “a highly successful, acceptable and accessible dental care model for people experiencing homelessness that could be implemented in other locations. PDSE established a community clinic to improve access to dental care for vulnerable adults. In the last year, the clinic has expanded its offer to include other individuals at risk of social vulnerability.

PDSE’s Community Clinic is absolutely brilliant. Its focus on oral health inequalities and its creativity has undoubtedly changed the lives of vulnerable people excluded from mainstream dentistry.
