The NHS Parliamentary Awards programme launched with an event in Parliament for all English MPs. MPs received resources to support them in making a call for nominations through their local media and other channels.
National and regional media releases have been issued by NHS England and NHS Improvement. MPs have been sent template media releases and other materials for their use locally.

Tuesday 1 September 2020: Nominations closed
The competition closes to nominations at midnight. The sifting process begins at local level with regional teams then deciding a regional champion in each category – more information on the process is set out below.
Monday 23 November 2020: National shortlist and Regional Champions announced
This was the public announcement of shortlisted nominees. Seven shortlisted nominees per categories comprised the regional champions from each of the NHS regions: East of England, London, Midlands, North East & Yorkshire, North West, South East and South West.
Wednesday 7 July 2021: NHS Parliamentary Awards Ceremony
The competition culminates in an awards ceremony on the 7th of July 2021.
Attendance to the in-person awards is by invitation only. All shortlisted nominees will be invited to the ceremony, along with the MP that have nominated them.
